Gyokusei studied painting with his father Gyokukei and with Suishō Nishiyama. Like his teachers Gyokusei chose to paint in the then popular nihonga style. Sixteen of Gyokusei’s paintings of flowers and (or) birds are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
